Generations

I was playing today with my very grumpy baby in the playroom and happended to put him in this rocking chair.

I just got to thinking about how many kiddos have enjoyed this particular chair. My grandmother's (who is in her early 90's)grandfather made this chair for her. It was one of the very few things that I asked to have when we had to move them to an assisted living facility. I remember playing in it for several years as a kid, and then using it for various dolls and such after that. Aggie also loves it, so it gets LOTS of good use here. I also have some great vintage puzzles that will go in Pate's room if I can get them framed like I want them!

The whole thing got me thinking about how special it was for me to be so very close to my grandparents growing up and how blessed my kids are to have theirs so near.

So, to the GPU's thanks for all the pinch hits and countless hours of sitting. Thanks for spoiling them rotten (b/c that's your priority), thanks for the hugs, kisses, compliments, and giggles. But most of all, thanks for loving them as much as you have us (or more b/c they go home:-))

I love the rocking chair! I think it's so neat to have old things around...especially if they are from family. I'm sorry to hear that you all have been sick. And, way to go, Pate for saying "Uh-oh"!
